The Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Deputy Executive Director, Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Subcabinet. This position will support the BRAC Subcabinet and its mission by assisting the Executive Director in coordinating and implementing the activities associated with the BRAC Action Plan.
The successful candidate will assist in all phases of the BRAC Stat project including the development of monthly reports informing the Governor of progress in planning and implementing BRAC 2005. The incumbent will also assist state agencies in coordinating and implementing a statewide BRAC plan and will provide follow-up in order to ensure compliance and resolve discrepancies.
Candidates must possess excellent oral, written and interpersonal communications skills and be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Internet and/or other relevant software.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and six years of recent professional experience in business administration, marketing or a related field. Experience in economic development is preferred. Candidates must also have one year of experience working on proposed legislation with members of the General Assembly and one year of experience working with all state agencies on a wide range of topics. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.
