MEDA Life Member Nomination Form

Any member who, by virtue of long-standing interest, participation and leadership in economic development, has made outstanding contributions to the economic climate and growth of the State of Maryland, and is no longer active in the economic development profession in Maryland, is eligible for life membership. The overall significance of this award is the impact the individual has made to  MEDA and economic development in the State of Maryland.

A life member shall be nominated by another MEDA member and recommended to the Awards Committee. The nominee will be selected by a majority vote of the MEDA Board of Directors. A life member will be installed at the MEDA Annual Conference and shall not be required to pay dues.

Instructions:

  • Each award submission must be entered into the form below and has a 1200 word limit.
  • You may nominate more than one individual.
  • Complete and submit online form (below). You must paste your "reason for nomination" into the space provided below.
  • Please describe why the nominee should receive the Life Member Award.
  • DEADLINE: December 2, 2011

Each of the following criteria must be addressed:

  • Years of service in the Economic Development community [in Maryland and elsewhere]
  • Leadership positions held within the Maryland Economic Development Association
  • Leadership positions within the economic development community at large
  • Contributions to professional development
  • Community service
  • Special achievements

*These criteria are also what the selection will be based upon.
Using the Point system: 0 = poor/no information, 1 = fair, 2 = good, 3 = excellent; for a total of 21 possible points.
