| Responding to Challenging Times: Solutions for Maintaining Our Economic Base More than 260 attendees heard from experts who make site selection decisions, develop unique partnerships, and counsel small businesses during what was clearly the most successful annual event ever for the organization. Jim Pitts of Northrop Grumman, Lt. Governor Brown, and UM Basketball Coach Gary Williams were also on hand as were eight of Governor O'Malley's cabinet members. Secretaries for economic development in both Virginia and Delaware shared their insights on partnerships with Maryland at a Tuesday panel. A surprise presentation from new Cambridge business owner Amanda Bramble, who was recently highlighted on a Tom Brokaw special, provided a standing ovation by the audience for the risk taker.
