The Chesapeake Basic Economic Development Course provides an introduction to the fundamentals of economic development. The course if designed to prepare participants for the challenges they face in the practice of developing communities.
Accredicated by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC), the Chesapeake Basic Economic Development Course meets the professional development requirements for economic development certification. The Maryland Economic Development Association (MEDA) is pleased to offer this five-day course for all who wish to further their careers by advancing their skills and knowledge in the field.

A networking reception is scheduled for Monday evening July 14 from 6:00 - 7:30 pm at the Marriott. A crab feast at Ripken Stadium (where we'll watch Ripken's minor league team, the Ironbirds play ball) is being planned for Thursday, July 17 (an additional $45 charge is required for the crab feast).
All classes begin at 8:30 AM each day. Each student will be required to participate in a Case Study. On site visits are scheduled to offset classroom work.
Class is restricted to the first 50 registrants.
