DESCRIPTION:Talbot County’s favorite prognosticators are back. \nAnirban Basu\, chairman and CEO of the Sage Policy Group\, will join M&T Vice President Gary Keith to discuss the current state of the economy and the prospects for recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. \nRather than holding a breakfast event this year\, the Talbot County Chamber of Commerce\, together with co-sponsors Tri-Gas & Oil\, M&T Bank\, and Talbot County Department of Economic Development and Tourism\, will offer the symposium free via the Zoom platform from 8:30-10:30 a.m. on November 4. \nThroughout a 36-year career at M&T Bank\, Keith has provided economic research and analysis support to the bank’s executive management and commercial banking business units. In addition to giving frequent updates to business and trade groups\, he holds regular discussions with M&T’s commercial customers\, helping tie together the economic variables that describe the macro economy with real world decisions that businesses make every day. \nKeith has a bachelor of science degree from Niagara University and a master’s in business administration from the State University of New York at Buffalo. In addition to his economic analysis role at M&T\, Keith also manages the bank’s commercial market research department. \nBasu is chairman and CEO of Sage Policy Group\, a Baltimore-based economic and policy consulting firm he founded in 2004.  He is among the country’s most recognizable economists\, in part thanks to his consulting work.
