SUMMARY:Solving the Cybersecurity Talent Gap in Maryland
DESCRIPTION:Cybersecurity is critical to modern society\, protecting people\, businesses\, and governments from malicious actors. This creates an urgent need for qualified talent to fill these roles – and a tremendous opportunity for learners and workers to step into high-growth\, high-wage jobs in the cybersecurity field. \nIn this webinar\, you’ll learn how TEDCO (Maryland Technology Development Corporation) and Lightcast worked together to map Maryland’s cybersecurity talent landscape and outline strategic steps to bridge the talent gap. Discover how data played a key role in quantifying and illuminating the need for cyber-talent in Maryland\, and see how TEDCO is using the study to guide its strategic cyber-workforce development efforts. \nThe webinar will include key takeaways from the recently released “Cybersecurity Workforce Analysis & Strategy” report\, as well as guidance for thinking about and tracking your own workforce development efforts in this sector (or other emerging sectors). All registrants will receive a copy of the recording and slide deck.

SUMMARY:2024 State of the Ports & Global Flavor Showcase

A new law is making its way through congress\, there’s rumblings of a merger from a trusted client\, or perhaps there’s a national election on the horizon. But hiring and retaining that workforce is a constant challenge – especially in the face of ongoing technological disruption. Instead of fearing this change\, we should embrace it and push back on the narrative. New technologies are helping our employees\, making them more efficient than ever before\, freeing them up to develop their skills even further. Our workforce is our strongest asset\, and providing the tools\, time\, and support can bring dividends.\n\n5:00 PM Reception \nSample food and beverages from across the world without leaving Baltimore at our Global Flavor Showcase. \n\n\n5:30 PM State of the Ports Address\n\n\nMaryland is home to two of the largest transportation and trade meccas in the United States: the Port of Baltimore and Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.
