DESCRIPTION:This workshop provides participants with an introduction to lean principles and tools.  For people just getting started with lean\, or for organizations who are ramping up on their lean journeys\, this workshop is a must! \nJoin us for a one-day introduction to understanding the BASICS of Lean.  The goal of this course is to give an overview of the implementation process of Lean tools and methodologies through interactive exercises. \nParticipants will partake in discussions\, lecture\, and games/exercises during which the instructor covers many topics including: \n\nWhat is “Batching” and why one-piece flow is important\nWhat is World Class?\nA Lean health-check overview – How to assess your company and its progression towards World Class\nLean BASICS overview – tools and principles of a proven implementation model\nProduct flow analysis exercise\nWorkflow analysis exercise\nLayouts\nStation balancing vs. bumping / baton zone balancing\nRapid improvement process\n\nThe Lean BASICS model has been applied during Lean implementations in many companies over the past 20 years\, including some of the Fortune 100. \nThe workshop teaches the same hierarchy of tools approach taught originally by Shigeo Shingo’s “P Course.” By the end of the workshop\, participants/teams will have not only a basic understanding of core principles but will be armed with analysis tools they can take immediately back to their companies to make a positive impact. \nThis workshop is appropriate for any level of lean practitioner whether beginner or advanced. SUMMARY:38th Annual Bollinger Open
DESCRIPTION:Our primary fundraising event is the Bollinger Open\, an annual golf tournament held at Andrews Air Force Base Golf Course. \nThe tournament attracts a wide variety of participants\, including Members of Congress\, Committee and Congressional staff\, housing industry lobbyists\, economic developers\, and many others from across the country. The Open has also seen its share of golf professionals participate in the past\, including Ed Sneed\, Nancy Maunder\, Jim Talbot\, M.J. Smith\, Brandi Underwood\, Kathleen Robinson\, Janet Ortega\, and Tiffany Faucette. \nParticipant Information \nYou don’t have to have a great handicap to play in the Bollinger Open\, only a willingness to support a wonderful cause. If you are interested in playing in the tournament\, please proceed to the download a registration form (PDF). Included in the $160 fee ($125 for retired persons and Federal employees) is your green fee\, golf cart\, dinner\, and prizes \nThe format is a scramble with the best of four shots used.
