SUMMARY:Newsmaker Speaker Series with Dr. David Wilson\, President of Morgan State University
DESCRIPTION:Join the Greater Baltimore Committee for a conversation with Dr. David Wilson\, President of Morgan State University. \nDr. David Wilson\, the 10th president of Morgan State University\, has more than 30 years of experience in higher education administration. Dr. Wilson holds four academic degrees: a Bachelor of Science degree in political science and a Master of Science degree in education from Tuskegee University; a Master of Education degree in educational planning and administration from Harvard University and a Master of Education degree in administration\, planning and social policy from Harvard University. He came to Morgan from the University of Wisconsin\, where he was Chancellor of the University of Wisconsin Colleges and the University of Wisconsin–Extension. Before that\, he held numerous other administrative posts in academia\, including: Vice President for University Outreach and Associate Provost at Auburn University\, and Associate Provost of Rutgers\, the State University of New Jersey. DESCRIPTION:This course is held in partnership with the International Economic Development Council and in conjunction with Economic Development Marketing and Attraction on February 27-28. Register for both\, and save on travel costs! \nThis course clearly articulates the eight stage process for real estate development and reuse. Specifically\, course participants will learn the fundamentals of market and site analysis\, financial feasibility\, and what political considerations are required to move a development project from conception to realization. Additionally\, this course will cover a wide variety of financing tools that are available at the local\, regional\, and state levels\, including tax increment financing\, bond financing\, tax credits\, tax abatements\, land assembly\, and brownfield redevelopment.
