A partnership with MEDA, LMD and USM

Highlighting Economic Development and Higher Education in Maryland

  • This event has passed.

Join us for our fifth conversation in a series highlighting the partnership between economic development and higher education. This discussion will focus on how the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) and University of Maryland (UM) BioPark are creating a new innovation district —inspiring new investment, venture creation, community reinvestment, and inclusive economic growth in West Baltimore.

With 1000 employees working among 40 technology companies and organizations in Baltimore’s largest life science cluster, the BioPark plans to double its lab and office space in the next three years adding new and innovative services and approaches that build out the innovation district concept. The University of Maryland, Baltimore, the anchor institution for the BioPark, includes nationally ranked professional schools — medicine, law, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, and social work — and an interdisciplinary graduate school.

Hear from Economic Development and Higher Education leaders with a special presentation of a newly released report on Innovation Districts and their impact on communities.

NOTE: This event is for MEDA and Leadership Maryland members only.
