Maryland Association of Counties Winter Conference

The Winter Conference is a 3-day event and is scheduled to be held at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Hotel in Cambridge, MD (Dorchester County) through 2019. It draws more than 500 county and state elected and appointed officials.

The upcoming Winter Conference will be held Wednesday, December 7, through Friday, December 9, 2016. The theme is “An Ounce of Prevention” and will focus on how counties can repare to best serve and protect their residents across many different areas of county service. Sessions<br>will discuss public health, maintaining infrastructure, and strategies to be sure counties are ready for<br>possible emergency scenarios, developing trends, and long-term changes.

Session topics will focus on reviewing timely issues that will be relevant during the upcoming Maryland General Assembly Session. Like the Summer Conference, there are many regional county meetings, state agency briefings, and MACo committee meetings; credit courses are offered for the Academy of Excellence in Local Governance. 40 table-top exhibits are on display throughout the conference.
