The Frederick County Office of Economic Development invites you to join them for a day in Frederick County. As attendees explore, they will hear about the diverse economic engines throughout the main streets and county. Business leaders from around the area will share insight about how they are diversifying their products.

Quick Fact:
Frederick County is home to the first Cidery and Meadery
in the State of Maryland!

Attendees will visit the quaint Brunswick Main Street to learn about the area’s revitalization efforts. The tour will also include a trip into the county’s largest main street, downtown Frederick. Parking will be available in the Church Street Parking Deck at 17 East Church Street. Participants will be welcomed and start their day at Winchester Hall (12 East Church Street) before boarding the bus.

This opportunity is offered to Leadership Maryland and MEDA members. For those interested in taking the tour, please fill out the form below. Space is limited to 22 slots and will be granted on a first come, first served basis.

9:30-10:00 a.m.- Registration and Welcome (Winchester Hall – 12 East Church Street, Frederick)

10:00a.m – Board bus for departure to Rocky Point Creamery- Diversification in farming 

10:30 -11:45 a.m.- Rocky Point Creamery- Visit a business with 200 cows and a creamery with 60 flavors of ice cream.

11:45 a.m.- arrive at Smoketown Brewery- Brunswick, MD- This business has transformed a 1948 fire station to a booming brewery. Hear the steps this small main street has taken to diversify. 

12:15 p.m.-Lunch at Beans in the Belfry- Brunswick, MD-  Enjoy lunch in a restored church that has been transformed into an eclectic cafe.

1:45 – 2:45 p.m.- Downtown Frederick Main Street – Learn about driving technology business to this main street and other strategies to diversify.

3:00 p.m.- Frederick’s Emerging Market- Panel on Craft Beverage Leaders- Industry leaders from local wineries, breweries and distilleries will participate in a panel discussion. This discussion will occur at the New Frederick Innovation Center at 118 N. Market Street, Frederick.

4:00-6:00 p.m.- Reception: All are welcome to visit Brewer’s Alley for Happy Hour- 124 N. Market Street- Even if you weren’t able to spend the day with us, please join us at Brewer’s Alley for happy hour!
