Main Street Princess Anne, Inc. is seeking a dynamic, visionary, and community-focused leader to serve as Main Street Manager and guide revitalization efforts in the heart of our historic downtown district.

The Role
The Main Street Manager leads the strategic implementation of the Main Street America™ Four-Point Approach — Design, Promotion, Economic Vitality, and Organization — to preserve architectural heritage, strengthen local businesses, and inspire civic pride.
You’ll coordinate development initiatives, engage residents and local partners, and serve as a key liaison with town leadership, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, and state and national Main Street networks.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Program Management: Oversee day-to-day program activities, manage grants and reporting, and supervise interns and volunteers.
- Revitalization & Preservation: Support small business development, attract and retain downtown enterprises, and promote the town’s historic assets.
- Community Engagement: Plan and implement events, marketing campaigns, and activities that bring energy and visitors to downtown Princess Anne.
- Partnership Building: Strengthen relationships with local businesses, nonprofits, universities, and government agencies.
- Progress Tracking: Monitor and report on program metrics such as job creation, building improvements, and community impact.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., public administration, business, urban planning, or historic preservation).
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years in community revitalization, nonprofit leadership, or economic development.
- Skills: Strong communication, organization, and grant-writing and management experience. Familiarity with the Main Street America™ model is preferred.
- Personal Qualities: Energetic self-starter, integrity-driven team player, creative problem-solver, and passionate advocate for historic communities.
- Availability: Flexibility to work evenings and weekends for events and outreach activities.
