TEDCO is an independent entity, established by the Maryland General Assembly in 1998, to facilitate the creation of businesses and foster their growth in all regions of the State. TEDCO’s role is to be Maryland’s leading source of funding for technology commercialization and seed capital and to provide other entrepreneurial business assistance to early-stage technology businesses. TEDCO connects emerging technology companies with federal laboratories, research universities, business incubators and specialized technical assistance.

The Digital Marketing Coordinator responsibilities will include creating digital marketing campaigns, designing visual communication products, tracking marketing activities in a customer resource management system (Salesforce), analyzing and tracking key marketing performance metrics, supporting event planning and production, and maintaining TEDCO’s websites using a content management system (Drupal and WordPress). An ideal candidate for this role should be creative, innovative, well-organized, self-starter, and must have excellent writing and communication skills. This position will also require experience in web development, video editing, and graphic design.


  • Works closely with the Chief Development & Marketing Officer to support activities to increase TEDCO’s brand, awareness and broaden reach.
  • Assists with design and content development for TEDCO’s marketing collateral (video production, graphics, annual reports, fact sheets, e-newsletters, etc.).
  • Supports, maintains and enhances all TEDCO social media platforms and other online activity.
  • Assists with various in-person and virtual special events, including TEDCO’s annual Entrepreneur Expo, TEDCO Pop-ups and more.
  • Creates and tracks TEDCO’s digital marketing campaigns and metrics.
  • Produces marketing and outreach reports using various tools such as Excel, Salesforce, PowerPoint and Google Analytics.
  • Works in cross-functional teams to coordinate marketing and outreach initiatives.
  • Maintains compliance and accessibility of TEDCO websites (front-end and back-end web development as well as troubleshoot servers, set up firewalls, and optimize site loading speeds).
  • Undertakes daily administrative tasks to ensure the functionality and coordination of the Development & Marketing Department’s activities.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a marketing client representation or communications environment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects, etc.), MS Office Suite and G Suite.
  • Basic knowledge of Salesforce, Drupal, WordPress, HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
  • Experience with data visualization and reporting.
  • Working knowledge of SEO best practices, web traffic data and social media metrics.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to the office and in-person events, as needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new software applications.
  • Strong written, oral communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong collaborative and teamwork skills.
  • Work in accordance to the company’s policies and procedures.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 25 pounds.

Will travel on occasion to events and outside meetings.

Compensation commensurate with experience plus full benefits package. This position will be based at TEDCO’s office in Columbia, Maryland.
