Governor Moore Announces New SJ Incorporation Manufacturing Facility in Washington County
BALTIMORE, MD (May 22, 2025) – Governor Wes Moore announced today that SJ Incorporation, a holistic wellness solutions company, is locating a new production facility in Cascade, MD. The company will lease approximately 35,000 square-feet of space at 24930 Reservoir Road, where it will manufacture medicine and medical device components. SJ Incorporation expects to begin construction this year and create 300 new full-time jobs over the next four years.
“Today’s announcement brings manufacturing jobs and greater opportunity to Western Maryland,” said Gov. Moore. “Our state is a global destination for businesses looking to grow and expand, and we’re thrilled to count SJ Incorporation among the companies that make up our world-class pharmaceutical and health care ecosystem. And by building in Fort Ritchie, this development will anchor a community that is on the rise and central to Maryland’s strength.”
With offices in Asia, Africa and the Middle East, SJ Incorporation is working to make healthcare accessible for all. The company is focused on bringing affordable medical products to underserved markets through its unique sourcing ability and last-mile connectivity. SJ Incorporation markets its own brand of products and has deep expertise in manufacturing and logistics. The firm will be employing cutting edge technology in the new facility.
“We are honored and extremely grateful to the leadership and people of Maryland for partnering with us in this most exciting venture,” said SJ Incorporation’s Chief Executive Officer and Group Managing Director Sanjay Jha. “Our entire team is focused on the future of our firm in America. We look forward to working with our new partners and serving a vital role in the health care industry in Maryland and in the U.S. market”.
“I am thrilled to be involved with SJ Incorporation and to navigate the challenges we are having domestically for pharmaceutical products in the U.S. market,” said Hamid Nowrouzi, SJ Incorporation’s Managing Member for the U.S. market and Maryland native. “I truly believe with Maryland’s partnership and our team’s expertise, production capabilities and knowledge we will be instrumental in assisting those in need to receive medication with superior quality and at a lower cost.”
The new manufacturing facility is located at Fort Ritchie, a former military installation in Western Maryland that is being redeveloped into a community with residential, commercial, retail, and recreational opportunities. SJ Incorporation represents the largest commercial investment in the Fort thus far.
“When the U.S.Army left Fort Ritchie, a large employment vacuum was created. Four years into our revival, vibrant life has returned to the post,” said John Krumpotich, developer of the Fort Richie property. “SJ Incorporation’s presence will have a large impact not only on our local mountain community, but all of western Maryland. They will bring hundreds of good-paying jobs and be a valuable part of our rejuvenation. We are very excited for this next step.”
To assist with project costs, the Maryland Department of Commerce is working to approve a $1,000,000 conditional loan through Advantage Maryland. Additionally, Washington County is providing a $100,000 conditional loan to support the company’s move to Maryland. SJ Incorporation is also eligible for the state’s Job Creation Tax Credit and One Maryland Tax Credit.
“Maryland’s leadership in the life sciences, pharmaceutical and manufacturing fields make it a great fit for an innovative company like SJ Incorporation,” said Maryland Department of Commerce Secretary Harry Coker, Jr. “This investment in our state will benefit the company, create good jobs for Washington County, and help us make Maryland’s economy stronger and more competitive.”
SJ Incorporation’s investment marks a significant milestone in the revitalization of the Cascade community and reinforces the county and state’s reputation as a competitive location for foreign direct investment.
“This investment marks a major milestone in the revitalization of the Cascade community and affirms Washington County’s growing reputation as a prime location for direct investment in manufacturing,” said Washington County Board of Commissioners President John Barr. “We’re proud to partner with the Maryland Department of Commerce to help bring this project to life.”
