Sponsor Blog: Town Of Easton

The Town of Easton had a great time this past week hosting the 2025 Main Street Maryland Conference. We want to thank the MD Department of Housing and Community Development and MEDA for choosing as the location for this event, and we hope that everyone had a wonderful time engaging with, learning from, and networking alongside their peers.

While this event was a great way for us to show off what is going on in Easton’s Downtown, there’s so much more going on in Easton worth celebrating:

VETAGRO GROUNDBREAKING: Italian Firm Vetagro broke ground on 9/16/25 at their lot in Easton’s Mistletoe Hall Commerce-Business Park. This is Vetagro’s first manufacturing facility to open in the United States, and is the first commercial operation to break ground at Mistletoe Hall (currently 6 of 13 lots are sold). When asked why they chose Easton, Vetagro President Andrea Piva said, “Easton offered more than logistical advantages…We discovered here a collaborative business climate, proximity to research centers and government agencies, and a welcoming community. Those qualities convinced us this was the right place to grow.”

UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND SHORE REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER: The Town of Easton is proud to help champion efforts in building the new Regional Medical Center to replace Easton’s current Hospital, which is over 100 years old. This new, state of the art facility will be 6 stories tall, house 122 licensed beds (private rooms), and will offer: Birthing Center, Cardiac Intervention Center, Critical Care Medicine, Emergency Services , Neurosciences, Orthopedics, Vascular Services, Women’s Services, and more. The new facility is on track to open in summer 2028.

A. JAMES CLARK EMERGENCY SERVICES TRAINING CAMPUS: Also at Mistletoe-Hall Commerce-Business Park, the Easton Volunteer Fire Department (EVFD) is nearly finished completion of their Emergency Services Training Campus. The Campus includes a 3,500 sq ft public safety building, a 3,600 sq ft training building, along with a 1,500 sq ft concrete pad for specialized fire training. These features will allow for specialized training for all Emergency services including burn building training, fire extractions, hostage rescue, SWAT operations, motor vehicle fires, K-9 training, Homeland Security, and also more traditional classroom studies. This campus will be utilized by Firefighters, EMS, and Police agencies across the region, and will be critical in honing the skills they need to save lives through simulation, education, and training. This is the only campus of its kind on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
