MacAdams Named Business Retention Specialist for Calvert County Department of Economic Development

PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — The Calvert County Department of Economic Development welcomes Kathy MacAdams as the team’s business retention specialist. MacAdams was most recently employed as a small business consultant with the Maryland Small Business Development Center Southern Region, a position she held for over six years. In her previous role, she assisted hundreds of business owners and entrepreneurs with a multitude of business management, financial, operational, growth and acquisition issues and priorities, a press release states. She has also taught a number of business courses for the SBDC and has taught strategic management capstone courses with a focus on corporate and business level strategies at the University of Maryland, University College.

MacAdams is a certified import/export specialist and was recently certified as a small business consultant through the Association of Accredited Small Business Consultants. She also has nearly 10 years of experience in budget, acquisition and program analysis work with the Department of the Navy. She has a Master of Science degree in management from UMUC and is a 23-year resident of Calvert County, the release states.
