MARYLAND’S CYBERSECURITY SECTOR HEADS TO RSA™ 2020
BALTIMORE, MD (February 24, 2020) – The Maryland Department of Commerce is joining a delegation of Maryland cybersecurity companies, federal agencies, and economic development partners this week at RSA™ 2020. The annual conference, which is taking place in San Francisco, is the nation’s premier information security event and draws more than 40,000 attendees to the Moscone Center. For the ninth consecutive year, Maryland’s cybersecurity strengths will be on display with Maryland-based cybersecurity companies and experts among conference speakers and exhibitors.
“As we continue to brand Maryland as the top global location for cybersecurity, it is important for us to be in front of key businesses as well as investors to highlight our unparalleled assets, highly-educated workforce, and our Open for Business commitment,” said Maryland Commerce Secretary Kelly M. Schulz, who is attending the conference. “We are also proud to support the 15 Maryland cyber companies that are exhibiting this year, and help connect them with new opportunities and partners.”
The Maryland cyber companies exhibiting at RSA this year are Ardent Privacy (Baltimore County), Bandura Cyber (Baltimore City), Brivo (Montgomery County), Cybrary (Prince George’s County), Dragos (Anne Arundel County), Fasoo (Montgomery County), Fidelis Cybersecurity (Montgomery County), Fluency (Prince George’s County), Fornetix (Frederick County), Huntress Labs (Howard County), INKY (Prince George’s County), SANS Institute (Montgomery County), TEKsystems (Anne Arundel County), Tenable (Howard County), and ZeroFOX (Baltimore City). In addition, two of the nation’s top federal agencies located in Maryland – the National Security Agency and the National Institute of Standards and Technology – are also attending. INKY, an anti-phishing startup out of College Park, is one of 10 finalists for the RSA Conference 2020 Innovation Sandbox Contest for its work on solving the systemic phishing attack epidemic.

Maryland Commerce joins Anne Arundel, Howard, Montgomery and Prince George’s counties as well as bwtech@UMBC at RSA. In addition to one-on-one meetings with prospective companies, Maryland Commerce will host a networking reception and a breakfast to highlight Maryland’s cybersecurity ecosystem to global companies and investors with Jeff Cunningham, an investment manager with Lockheed Martin Ventures, as the breakfast keynote speaker. Secretary Schulz will also participate in the Maryland RSA Pitch Competition hosted by the iCyberCenter @bwtech, where up to 10 overseas and domestic companies will deliver a three-minute product pitch.
