MEDIA ADVISORY Lt. Governor Boyd Rutherford, DBED Secretary Mike Gill, and installation commanders to address Maryland Military Installation Council

BALTIMORE, MD (September 24, 2015) – The Maryland Military Installation Council (MMIC) will feature Lt. Governor Boyd Rutherford, DBED Secretary Mike Gill, and commanders of Maryland’s military installations at the MMIC’s meeting on Friday, September 25.

During the meeting, Major General Sarah Zabel, vice director of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), and Major General Bruce Crawford, CECOM Commanding General and APG Senior Mission Commander, will provide updates on the installations. George Schlossberg, General Counsel to the Association of Defense Communities, will discuss BRAC: Considerations Going Forward.

Attendees will also receive an update on the Defense Diversification Grant awarded by the Department of Defense Office of Economic Adjustment earlier this year. The goal of the grant is to help diversify the portfolios of businesses that are primarily dependent on defense contracts, expand the companies’ client base, and remain economically viable.
