Feel the Boom

Smart Business Event to Help Manage Business in a Booming Economy

Baltimore County’s economic week has turned out to be an economic development year.  The 2015 economy is booming with hiring, expanding and building happening across the county. With over $1 billion in private investment in Towson, redevelopment of 3,100 acre Sparrows Point into a world class logistics hub that will bring thousands of new jobs to the peninsula, 200,000 square feet of new office space at the Metro Centre at Owings Mills transit oriented development, 700,000 square feet of new or redeveloped buildings in Hunt Valley-Sparks with new headquarters, including McCormick, and the millions of dollars being invested through our enterprise zones… our job is to make everyone feel the boom.

The Department of Economic and Workforce Development is reaching out to business owners directly to bring valuable resources to light like the Baltimore County Boost Fund for small, minority, woman and veteran-owned businesses. The County will reach businesses through local media, regional partners and will hold the first of three Smart Business Events spanning across the county.  This will be a one-stop shop event to highlight business tools and key people from the federal, state and local level that can help make it happen for small business success in Baltimore County.
